** It will be up to the entrant to decide in which category their entry will fall. If you have an entry that you deem to be ‘transitional' it will be up to you to decide which category to place it in.

A. Best New Designer (1 Award)
Eligible designers have been working in the industry for 36 months or less – start date after JANUARY 1, 2020. Note there are changes to the criteria for this category, please read carefully.
To be awarded to the most creative New NKBA Ottawa Chapter Member Designer. The new designer will submit at least two (2), preferably 3-4, projects showcasing their personal design work, solutions created, and challenges they had to overcome. Kitchen and bathroom projects only. Minimum of 2-4 photos for each project and professional photography is not required, however, all photos must be clear, high resolution, and display the project accurately. Drawings must accompany each project and adhere to NKBA graphics and presentation standards.
The ‘New Artist' will have been working in the Design Industry for 36 months or less – resumé with work experience to be submitted. There will be a 1st prize awarded. Previous recipients of this award are not eligible for entry. Entry project MUST be done solely by the entrant – NO- co-submission.

T. Best Transformation (Before & After) Bathroom (2 Awards) To be awarded to the most dramatic ‘Before & After' Design. ‘Before' AND ‘After' Floorplans, Elevations and Renderings must be submitted, as well as a Design Statement. There are no price limits in this category. Kitchen - $19,999.99 or less without labour.
Requirements
Materials definition: Materials to include in pricing to determine price category include but are not limited to: cabinets, cabinet hardware (knobs, pulls & and special hinging like flip-up hinges etc.), counter tops, wall covering (paint, wall paper or other wall finish), floor covering, all light fixtures, shower glass, fixed accessories (pull-outs, garbage pull-outs, hooks, towel bars etc.), sinks and faucets. Do not include items such as: windows, doors, appliances, drywall, trim, heated floors, etc.

U - Anywhere In the World
Description
(Note: only one winner will be awarded in this category) Entries in this category can be from a project OUTSIDE of the NKBA Ottawa chapter region and must contain cabinetry as a major component of a residential space. Kitchens, Bathrooms AND Other Rooms are eligible but MUST be from locations NOT within the Chapter boundaries. This will be heavily judged on CREATIVITY. There are no price limits in this category. A 1st place prize will be awarded.
